The following post features student writing.
1. We went to a park by the ocean, stood in a big circle, and played ice breakers, and became oriented to our new country and our new community.

The beginning of orientation and our nightly group meeting ritual.
2. We acknowledged water and its importance in higher altitudes.
3. We ate some delicious food for lunch, including traditional Peruvian meals of ceviche, milanesa, lomo saltado, and bistec a lo pobre.

Our first meal together!
4. We went to Museo Larco and saw fascinating Incan artifacts — including over 50,000 pieces of ceramics!

Outside Museo Larco.
5. We walked across the Malecón, a beautiful vista of the Pacific Ocean that had some sweet skate parks and plazas overlooking the ocean.

Walking along the Malecón in Miraflores.
BONUS: We got to sleep in after our late night traveling! So far everything is starting out great!
