Entering the Sacred Valley of the Incas

The following post features student writing.

¡Hola from Pisac!

After a great first day in Lima, this morning we woke up and took a bus to the airport. There we saw the other Putney group in Peru and took a short flight to Cuzco in which we could see the amazing views of the Andes mountains! After exchanging money and squeezing our luggage into the bus, we rode from Cuzco to the small town of Pisac with exceptional views of communities around Cuzco.

We checked into our hostel and immediately went to a late but delicious lunch consisting mainly of quinoa soup, chicken, and dessert. After we changed into warmer clothes, we were given time to explore in the open-air markets in which many people bought alpaca blankets, sweaters, and jewelry.

Once it got dark we returned to the hotel where we played games and ate snacks before closing a third great day with our nightly meeting. We are all very excited to head to our village tomorrow where we will stay for the next three weeks. Everyone is having a great time and having no problems with the elevation change! Thanks to water!
